Opportunity: CourseCo, a leading Northern California Golf Management Company seeks General Manager for Deep Cliff Golf Course in Cupertino, CA. Deep Cliff Golf Course, designed by Clark Glasson and built in 1961, Deep Cliff's 18 hole, par 60, executive course is nestled in the Cupertino foothills. A short course of 3,358 yards, Deep Cliff is recommended by many course reviewers as a good starting point for beginners but can challenge any level of player. Having undergone a multimillion dollar renovation to the course and clubhouse over the last several years Deep Cliff’s position in the market includes excellent golf course conditions and a newly renovated Food & Beverage Facility separately branded as DC Taphouse.
This position has ultimate responsibility for managing the entire facility, will directly supervise golf operations, including marketing and promotion, golf course maintenance, food & beverage, will manage direction of administrative staff and interdepartmental coordination. This position is responsible for contract compliance and for ensuring the clean, attractive, and safe condition of public and non-public areas of the property at all times. Furthermore, the General Manager will execute marketing strategies and organize community outreach efforts. This position reports directly to a Senior Operating Manager and works closely with the VP of Operations and VP of Sales & Marketing to ensure success for the facility.
Job function includes: development and management of golf operations budget; training and supervision of outside and inside golf operations staff; tee sheet and POS management. Position is directly responsible for management of all departmental functions including range and cart operations, tournaments, marshals, and merchandising. General Manager will to coordinate the formation of player development programs. Position will ensure desired level of customer service is met at all times.
Successful candidate must have 3+ years’ experience as a General Manager, Director of Golf, or equivalent at a high volume, high quality public facility.
Compensation is commensurate with experience within the $80,000 – $100,000 range with bonus potential of an additional $2,000 - $15,000. PGA Class A preferred but not required. Benefits include: shared health plan, 401(k), PGA dues, vacation, meal discount and approved education.

JOB TITLE: Pro Shop Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Golf Operations
FACILITY INFORMATION: Designed by Clark Glasson and built in 1961, Deep Cliff's 18 hole, par 60, executive course is nestled in the Cupertino foothills. Deep Cliff offers the finest 18 hole executive golf course for players of all abilities. Deep Cliff is also a walker's delight with flat terrain and gently tiered greens. Deep Cliff Golf Course is open daily and is home to outstanding golf classes and programs for new and beginner golfers.
POSITION PROFILE: This position reports to the Golf Operations Manager.
Essential functions include:
- Ensure desired level of customer service is met at all times
- Take reservations and assign play of golfers
- Promote ans sell Pro Shop merchandise and services
- Follow proper cash handling procedures
- Collect, clean and store range balls
- Pull, return and clean golf carts
- Correctly execute opening and closing procedures
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills
- Assist with the execution of tournaments and other special events as needed
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in the golf or customer service industry preferred. Knowledge of golf preferred. Ability to operate a computer efficiently is required.
COMPENSATION/BENEFITS: Competitive pay for the industry. Limited extra earning opportunities through commissions on some sales, memberships and services. Additional earning opportunities may be available depending on qualifications and experience.
